Solar Cooking

Solar Cooking is one of the most interesting scientific non-fiction books that I have read. This book was written by Rob Waring and it was published by National Geographic. The book provides essential knowledge about alternative energy resources and women rights. Moreover, the book illustrates how people cook their meals by using solar energy instead of their traditional approach. To build a solar cooker, we just need reflective materials and cardboard. At the same time it indicates the advantages of solar cooking when people apply this method in their daily life. The writer aims to inspire and encourage people who are interested in a new invention, in this book. If people around the world realise the benefits of solar cooking, environmental resources such as forests and thermal energy will be protected and quality of life will be improved because our planet will have enough available natural materials for all people.

This book is absolutely awesome for everyone. It should be read not only by researchers or scientists but also ordinary people. The book contains lots of reliable information which is proved by outstanding institutes, specialists and experts such as microbiologist, Dr. Bob Metcalf. Therefore, if people would like to receive academic materials and practical knowledge, they should read this book. Another noticeable point of this book is that it is written using unsophisticated vocabulary and glossaries are added in each relevant page. Moreover, in some complicated sections, brilliant flowcharts are used in order to offer clearer information and pictures are used so as to motivate people to realise how to balance our planet in conditions of limited natural resources.

The Solar Cooking book is very useful for improving my daily life. Although I have been reading a lot of scientific books, this book provides opportunities to think outside the box and it motivates me to think about why we have to protect our world. Moreover, one of the most useful factors is diet. If we cook without pollution like in Solar Cooking, our planet will be preserved for longer. Therefore, I would like to recommend every generation read this wonderful book. If people try to reduce the waste which can destroy the global atmosphere, I am pretty sure the world will gradually get better soon.
