The Piano

The book’s name is The Piano. I read it during two days. It was written by Rosemary Border and I think it is fantastic.

The story began from a dressing room and the main character is Sir Anthony Evans whose original name called Tony Evans. A reporter interviewed him and asked some questions about his success. Then Anthony began to talk about his road to success.

When he was a student, people called him Tony. Tony was not very clever, in fact, he was slow. Because of poverty, Tony had no chance to learn some knowledge of music, and he did not know his talent in the piano at that time. When he was thirteen years old, he dropped out of school. Then, he found a job at Mr Wood’s farm. One day, Mr Wood asked Tony and his friends to clean a building which was behind the house. By accident, Tony found a piano in the corner and he liked this. He played it very well but he had not leant the piano before. Next, his friends helped him move this piano to the school where nobody could find them. Tony practised the piano after dinner every day. By accident, Mr Gordon who was a music teacher at this school, discovered a genius. Luckily, there was a competition in the town and Mr Gordon gave Tony the chance.

I have to say that I like this book and its plot attracted me deeply. All descriptions of characters in the book are very vivid.  We will find some stories can be also occurred like this, so I think it is a inspiring story.

According to this story, I guess maybe a talent will appear for some reasons and chances. If Tony was not drop out, he would never show his intelligence in the piano in the future. Everyone has potency, just need to stimulate it, and if we can get the chance, we will make a difference in our life. So sometimes, maybe we have to give up something just like studying. I think it is not a bad thing, perhaps we can get some abilities which others can’t gain. As the saying goes “God closes a door but will open a window for you.”
